Kazanetti Kazanetti String Quartet

Kazanetti 4 Kids

KAZANETTI 4 KIDS is a 30-minute program specifically aimed at elementary school children (K-5). Where limited audience space is a factor, multiple performances are given so a school’s entire student body may see the presentation over the course of a morning or afternoon. Many programs are original in content and can be tailored to incorporate a ‘non-musical’ subject. As much as possible, Kazanetti consults with teachers and/or school officials to develop a program that directly supports the school’s or classroom’s curriculum. Topics include:

  • Introduction to the String Quartet
An introduction to the string quartet, its instruments and techniques, followed by a general discussion of how and where music is used and heard in our daily lives
  • Peter & the Werewolf
A Halloween version of Peter & the Wolf that features selected wind instruments and introduces the use of musical themes as characters
  • The Great American Time Machine
Take a trip back in time to meet American figures of note and hear the patriotic music inspired by their deeds
  • Follow the Drinking Gourd
Hidden in the lyrics of a simple folk song are directions to the escape route known as the Underground Railroad
  • Irish Music & Dance
Learn different types of Irish tunes and dances, and watch the teachers try a jig!
  • This is Opera?!
Monsters, cowboys, and superheroes?! How did they get here?
